Seneca Capital is an entrepreneurial investment firm that partners with reputable Australian businesses to drive long term success.

Seneca Capital specialises in the acquisition and management of privately held small-to-medium sized businesses in Australia. We work with owners to structure a transaction that meets their objectives: bringing capital and multi-industry expertise to the business; helping generate sustainable growth; and ensuring continuity of operations for customers, employees and other stakeholders.

Committed in focus but flexible in approach, we meet with business owners to understand their needs. From there, we offer assistance via acquisition or investment. Our strategy is to build value for all stakeholders and position companies for long term success through a combination of internal growth initiatives, operational improvements and strategic acquisitions.

Seneca Capital looks for companies with annual EBIT of $2 million to $8 million. We focus on companies with a track record of profitability that generate sustainable margins in an industry that’s growing faster than the broader economy. We also look for businesses that have a high level of recurring revenue, low capital intensity and high barriers to entry.

Seneca Capital places importance in these general guidelines. However, we're open to evaluating opportunities outside these parameters and will make decisions on the merits of each business.

We are not your typical private equity firm. Seneca Capital provides owners with liquidity while ensuring the business they have created is transitioned to people whose sole focus will be on driving the continued success of that business.

Often, near-sighted decisions for short-term gain undermines future performance. Seneca Capital has long-term performance in mind, backed by patient capital, to navigate the company for sustainable success.
